Introduction

Santosh Choubey is a rare writer who is active in both literature and science. He was born in 1962 in Madhya Pradesh, India. He has a master’s degree in electronics and a doctorate in computer science. He has been writing since his childhood and has published and received acclaim for his works in various genres, such as stories, novels, poems, translations, and criticism. He has also written and edited several books on computer science, electronics, and other scientific topics for various audiences. He has been actively involved in social movements for science, literacy, and information technology for the past 30 years. He has also founded and led several institutions and initiatives that aim to promote education, skill development, and social empowerment through technology. He has been honored with prestigious awards for his literary, scientific, and social contributions. He is currently the Chancellor of Dr. C.V. Raman University and ISECT University. He is also the Chairman of ISECT Network, Rajya Sansadhan Kendra, and Vanmali Srijan Peeth.

  • Santosh Choubey has published three collections of stories: Halkay Rang Ki Kamiz (Light-Colored Shirt), Restaurant Mein Dopahar (Afternoon in the Restaurant), and Pratinidhi Kahaniyan (Representative Stories). His stories have been staged at Bharat Bhavan and National School of Drama. His stories have also been published regularly in the top magazines of the country.
  • He has written two novels: Raag Kedar (Kedar Raga) and Kya Pata Kamrad Mohan (Who Knows Comrade Mohan). His novels explore the themes of identity, politics, and culture in contemporary India.
  • He has published three collections of poems: Kahin Aur Sach Honge Sapne (Dreams Will Be True Somewhere Else), Kona Dharti Ka (A Corner of the Earth), and Is A-Kavi Samay Mein (In This Unpoetic Time). His poems reflect his sensitivity, imagination, and social awareness.

Science writing and promotion

Santosh Choubey is a pioneer of computer science writing in Hindi. His book Computer: Ek Parichay (Computer: An Introduction) was the first book on computer science in Hindi. It set a record in sales and received the Meghnad Saha Award from the Government of India.

He has written and edited more than 30 books on computer science, electronics, and other scientific topics for various audiences. Some of his books are aimed at children, such as **Computer Ki Duniya** (The World of Computer) and **Computer Aapke Liye** (Computer for You) series. Some of his books are focused on the latest scientific topics, such as artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, biotechnology, etc.

He has been editing the first Hindi magazine on electronics and information technology, **Electroniki Aapke Liye** (Electronics for You), for the past 25 years. He has also written and staged several science plays, such as **Galileo**, which he translated from English to Hindi.

He has received several awards for his science writing and popularization, such as the National Science Communication Award from the Government of India, the Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Award from the Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, the President's Indian Innovation Award, the NASSCOM IT Innovation Award, and the i4d Award from the Asian Forum.

Santosh Choubey has been actively involved in social movements for science, literacy, and information technology for the past 30 years. He has been a member of various national committees and organizations related to these fields.

He has founded and led several institutions and initiatives that aim to promote education, skill development, and social empowerment through technology. Some of these are:
